His Son’s Been Missing For 29 Years. Song He Sings Left Simon Saying “This Is Brilliant.”

Sometimes difficult situations bring people together in the best of ways – and that’s exactly what happened in the case of The Missing People Choir from the United Kingdom. After the sudden disappearances of their loved ones, the members came together incrementally to form the massive choir driven by hope and the encouragement they bring to one another.

Bonded by the drive to spread their message, the group decided to try out for Britain’s Got Talent. Even the show’s most outspoken host, Simon Cowell, had nothing but admiration for the choir, saying, “What a brilliant idea!” Not only was their message positive and hopeful, but their voices were incredible. In perfect harmony, The Missing People Choir sang a song written by one of its members, Peter Boxell, titled “I Miss You.”

Peter lost his 15-year-old son, Lee, in September 1988, after he disappeared from a soccer match in South London. The devoted father hasn’t given up hope that his son is still out there and uses the song to share his feelings and spread the word about his disappearance. Listen to Peter and the rest of the members sing “I Miss You” by pressing “play” on the video below. But first: you’ll need a box of tissues handy for their emotional performance. We can’t wait to see how far the group makes it in the show and beyond!
