Luckily the homeowners were able to make it out before firefighters arrived, but their two dogs were trapped inside the home. When crews found the dogs, they were unresponsive in a rear bedroom, and the family panicked.

Rescuers pulled them out of the blaze, but instead of using regular oxygen masks that are used on humans, they used a device called Fido bags, which are specially designed oxygen masks that fit around a dog’s face. Regular oxygen masks used on humans do not fit on a pets’ face properly, therefore Fido bags must be used.
